Barton upon Humber Town Council’s Town Award for 2025 will continue with the Wendy Witter Town Award for Organisations, along with the usual Young Person’s award (under 18) and Town Award.

The Award is presented annually to a resident or organisation within the community for work or action of merit. This will be a small thank you to the people who have helped our community or members of it, without expectation of reward or thanks. The winner will receive a silver cup to be held for one year, together with a certificate and keepsake, the award will be presented by the Mayor of Barton upon Humber.
Last year’s Town Award winner was Mr Colin Andrew who was nominated ‘For his unending willingness to step forward and volunteer his Health and Safety expertise on lots of labour intensive projects around Barton and neighbouring villages’. Last year’s Wendy Witter Town Award for Organisations winner was awarded to Barton Parks Parkrun organised by Barton & District Athletics Club.
The nominated person or organisation must live within the town or work voluntarily within Barton upon Humber to be eligible. They cannot be a Town Councillor or an Officer.
If you know someone who has:
• Served within an organisation for many years
• Acted over and above the call of duty
• Helped the aged, or infirm
• Guided and helped youth and children
• Performed acts of courage
• Contributed to our community or persons within it

You will appreciate that any person nominated may not be selected on this particular year but it is pleasing to know those, who through their endeavours, are being brought to the notice of the Town Council.
