Barton upon Humber Town Council will be entering the CPRE Northern Lincolnshire’s Best Kept Village competition for 2025.
Residents across Barton upon Humber are being encouraged to take part in this year’s event by organising an environmental project or activity within the local community. This could be raising awareness campaigns, hosting community recycling drives, organising community litter collections, sweeping footpaths, anything to enhance the towns appearance and to create a positive impact within the town.
Awards will be presented by CPRE to celebrate the work carried out to enhance the beauty and sustainability of the local environment and for showing increased community involvement and community spirit amongst residents.
CPRE Northern Lincolnshire is part of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, a nationwide charity dedicated to preserving the countryside, protecting green spaces, and promoting sustainable living.
Entries will be judged on a wide range of criteria, including:
-
- Best Kept Cemetery
- Best Kept Pub
- Best Kept Churchyard
- Best Kept Playground
- Best Kept War Memorial
- Best Community Planting
- The competition features separate categories for small village (under 500 population), medium village (500 to 2000 population), large village (2000 – 4000 population) and small town (over 4000 population).
