Barton upon Humber Town Council’s Town Award for 2025 will continue with the Wendy Witter Town Award for Organisations, along with the usual Young Person’s award (under 18) and Town Award.

The Award is presented annually to a resident or organisation within the community for work or action of merit. This will be a small thank you to the people who have helped our community or members of it, without expectation of reward or thanks. The winner will receive a silver cup to be held for one year, together with a certificate and keepsake, the award will be presented by the Mayor of Barton upon Humber.
Last year’s Town Award winner was Mr Colin Andrew who was nominated ‘For his unending willingness to step forward and volunteer his Health and Safety expertise on lots of labour intensive projects around Barton and neighbouring villages’. Last year’s Wendy Witter Town Award for Organisations winner was awarded to Barton Parks Parkrun organised by Barton & District Athletics Club.
The nominated person or organisation must live within the town or work voluntarily within Barton upon Humber to be eligible. They cannot be a Town Councillor or an Officer.
If you know someone who has:
• Served within an organisation for many years
• Acted over and above the call of duty
• Helped the aged, or infirm
• Guided and helped youth and children
• Performed acts of courage
• Contributed to our community or persons within it
Then please complete the form below, or please send a letter giving reasons for your nomination.

Grant Application Forms for Community Events for VE Day and VJ Day 2025. These grant forms are for grants of up to £100 and all appliations are welcomed. Events must involve community participation. We look forward to hearing about lots of events around the town.

Christmas Elf Hunt

The Christmas elves have taken over Barton upon Humber Town Centre this year. 12 cheeky elves are hiding in shop windows and we need your help to find them, and help get them back to the North Pole!
To find them, all you need to do is hunt across Barton upon Humber Town Centre, looking in the shop windows to try and see if you can spot them. Every elf has a letter and number, by finding all of them, you will be in with the chance of winning a prize.
To enter the competition, simply find the elves and complete the quiz sheet. Paper entry forms can be collected from Monday 25th November from Barton upon Humber Town Council and Euronics or you can email info@bartonuponhumbertowncouncil.go.uk Alternatively, please download an entry form here. The competition closes Monday 6th January 2025. All entries received will be entered into the prize draw.

Changes to the 350 Bus Service

Remembrance Procession
The Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place on Sunday, 10 November 2024.
The Town Council has made application and been granted to temporarily close a section of Queen Street to High Street; High Street to Burgate; Burgate to Whitecross Street; Whitecross Street to Barrow Road (A1077) to Falkland Way, Barton-upon-Humber, to road traffic between 10.15 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. to facilitate the Remembrance Day Parade/Service.
The Remembrance Day Parade will take the following route:
Proceeding from The Assembly Rooms located on Queen Street at 10.15 a.m. onto the High Street (between Queen Street and Burgate), Burgate, Whitecross Street (between Beck Hill and Barrow Road junction) and Barrow Road to the Cenotaph for 11.00 a.m. Then, the reverse route back concluding at 11.30 a.m.
